The smart cabin solution welcomes the passenger on board via face recognition and navigates the passenger to the relevant seat and overhead storage bin with space reserved for personal items. Loading instructions help the passenger to store the luggage in the best possible configuration.

For the on-board crew

Using the visionary Diehl Aviation smart cabin system, the flight crew can quickly check the status of every overhead bin, noting whether it is open, closed or overloaded. If problems with the bin are detected, the crew receives information and can easily inform the MRO that can initiate further repairs and maintenance tasks, either immediately or upon landing at the destination airport.

For the MRO

The MRO also has the option to check the overhead bin status directly, which includes information about the status of the latching system, the ability to monitor the loading weight and to predict the wear and tear status of the storage bin.
