What are the key issues facing Africa’s water and sanitation sector? How can we tackle them? And what new developments should we expect? These were some of the pressing issues addressed at the AfWA International Congress and Exhibition, held in Kampala, Uganda 24th-27th February, 2020. As an historic partner of AfWA (African Water Association), Diehl Metering was once again an active participant.
Now in its 20th edition, the 4-day event was an opportunity for us to meet top executives from water utilities and private companies in Ghana, Uganda, Mali, Senegal, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast, with a view for potential collaborations in the future.
During the event, we were able to reconnect with various distributors and partners from developing and emerging economies in Africa. Local companies working in the sector face some of the biggest water challenges in the world. The issue of Non-Revenue Water, in particular, represents a considerable opportunity to improve the lives of millions on the continent.
Held every two years, the International Congress and Exhibition aims to facilitate the sharing of ideas and accelerate developments in Africa’s water and sanitation sector. Its organizer, AfWA, is made up of more than 100 utilities from over 40 African countries.
