Battery Show 2023: Diehl shows solutions for the energy storage of the future

The Diehl Group is once again part of the trade fair "The Battery Show Europe 2023" and is presenting a diverse portfolio of mechanical, electronic and mechatronic systems and subsystems for battery packs.

Diehl Metall

From 23 to 25 May 2023, the Stuttgart trade fair "The Battery Show Europe" will open its doors. Among the exhibitors is the Nuremberg-based Diehl Group, which will present its solutions for the energy storage systems of the future. The exhibiting Diehl business units Metall and Controls develop and manufacture battery management systems (BMS), as well as customer-specific subsystems for batteries, ranging from cell contacting systems and smart connection solutions to inverters and HMI solutions.

Electromechanical solutions for high-voltage storage systems and subsystems for battery packs

Diehl Metall focuses on sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies and works continuously on optimising products and processes. At the Battery Show, the company will present its latest innovations and solutions for electromobility and the battery industry.

In today's world, where the demand for battery-powered devices for industry, power tools or e-bikes is rapidly increasing, it is essential that battery systems become more flexible and powerful. The technology company takes battery technology to the next level with modular and scalable battery cell holders as well as smart connection solutions

For the field of electromobility, Diehl Metall has been committed to the development and series production of cell contact systems for the automotive industry for more than 15 years. The company has seen strong sales growth of around 30% in the field of electromobility in recent years and will be showcasing a variety of forward-looking technology options at the Battery Show, such as the efficient and functional integration of cooling and heating elements into the battery system or substitution of insulated wiring with flat, flexible and lightweight components.

Battery management system with model-based software

For industrial applications of battery systems, Diehl Controls manufactures complete management systems and uses a model-based approach for the software. In this way, customers benefit from the comprehensive application software which, in addition to condition monitoring, ensures high functional reliability of battery systems. With "Seamless integration of sensors", the Wangen-based technology company refers to its expertise in integrating and monitoring different sensors in the system. For example, the condition monitoring of the battery cell can be expanded with pressure and humidity sensors. With the keyword "ultra-slim mechatronic solutions", Diehl Controls shows how mechatronic components can be integrated in very limited installation space.

A safe, efficient and compact battery management system is in high demand for low-voltage and high-voltage storage systems, which are used in industrial applications such as forklifts or industrial robots. The energy transition that has been heralded means that the demand for battery systems is increasing worldwide. The company can also meet this capacity demand in Europe with the newly planned plant in Romania (Braşov).

Diehl Metall and Diehl Controls can be found at the Battery Show Europe in Hall 8 / Stand B50. The team is looking forward to exciting discussions and a lively exchange on topics related to the energy storage of the future.
