Galleys
Galleys must be functional and as lightweight as possible. To achieve this, Diehl Aviation collaborates closely with airlines and OEMs throughout the entire process, from initial configuration and certification to final integration.
Dry, wet and chilled galleys
Diehl Aviation offers flexible galley solutions that can be adapted to meet the specific needs of airlines. Diehl is responsible for integrating the desired systems, whether they are supplied by Diehl or third-party suppliers. Three basic configurations are available:
- Wet Galley: A fully equipped galley with integrated fresh and waste water systems, cooling systems and other kitchen elements.
- Chilled Galley: A variant with a focus on cooling.
- Dry Galley: Basic version without water or cooling systems. This option only includes the load-bearing housing and catering equipment such as trolleys.
Regardless of the chosen variant, airlines can decide which components they would like to purchase from Diehl or other suppliers – Diehl will handle the system integration either way.
Diehl Aviation galleys are currently used in almost all single-aisle and long-range Airbus aircraft.
Special galleys: Tailor-made solutions for a unique passenger experience
One of Diehl Aviation's particular strengths lies in developing and integrating bespoke galley solutions that go beyond standard configurations. These special galleys, also known as bars or self-service galleys, enable airlines to enhance the cabin experience specifically.
- Individual design: The galleys are designed exactly according to customer requirements, from the choice of materials to the functional equipment.
- Bar integration: On long-haul flights, an integrated bar can offer passengers greater freedom of movement and comfort. It creates space for social interaction and enhances the travel experience.
- Self-service areas: Alternatively, galleys can be designed as self-service stations for snacks and drinks, which are particularly popular in premium cabins.
E-Smart Galley: The digital future of the galley
