Company presents current contributions to innovative strength and competitiveness of the German air transport and aviation industry

Diehl Aviation, a leading global solution provider for aircraft cabins and central aircraft systems, participates in the national aviation conference, which today takes place in Leipzig at the invitation of the Federal Ministry of Economics, the Federal Ministry of Transport and the Free State of Saxony. At its exhibition stand at the conference - visited, among others, by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Federal Economics Minister Peter Altmaier and Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer - the Company provides information about its diverse products, services, innovative strength, competencies and locations.

Diehl Aviation employs about 6,000 people worldwide, 5,000 of them at German locations, including in Dresden, the state capital of Saxony. This makes the Company one of the major players in the German aviation industry. It contributes an annual turnover of around 1.5 billion euros to value creation in the aviation industry, and plays a leading global role as a supplier of aircraft cabin elements and aircraft systems. In Leipzig, the company is also represented with its Skypax product. The cabin monument Skypax connects a galley with two toilet units, which by means of a foldable connecting door can be quickly and easily converted into one spacious, disabled toilet. Together with its development partner Lufthansa Technik, Diehl Aviation won the German Innovation Prize for Skypax in May 2019, which has been awarded annually since 1953 by the German Design Council [Rat der Formgebung] on the initiative of the German Bundestag. In Leipzig, the Skypax us exhibited at the stand of the "Innovation Award of German Aviation" (Innovationspreis der deutschen Luftfahrt - IDL).
