Diehl Metering is pleased to announce the launch of the MIOTY Joint Licensing Program, a new joint patent licensing effort for the MIOTY technology. The new wireless MIOTY technology had been introduced earlier this year, at the Nuremberg “Embedded World” exhibition on February 25 2020.
MIOTY sets new standards in the field of low power wide area network (LPWAN) technologies when it comes to transmission range, scalability, security, cost efficiency and battery life. These benefits make the MIOTY connectivity solution an optimal choice for a wide range of Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the field of Industry 4.0, Smart Cities, mobility, logistics, healthcare etc.
Diehl Metering and the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) have jointly developed MIOTY and both own IP rights for this technology. On their behalf, the MIOTY Joint Licensing Program has been setup and is operated by their partner Sisvel International, one of the world leading companies managing intellectual property. As a result, customers have one single point of contact to acquire technology licenses on FRAND (fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory) conditions.
The joint licenses address market needs for efficient licensing, making relevant patents more easily accessible and ensuring that all users of the MIOTY technology will benefit from the transparency and the convenience of the license terms available under this new program.
