At this year’s Paris Air Show, Diehl Aviation demonstrates its role as a key enabler of future aviation. Amidst growing geopolitical challenges, this key aviation trade fair once again serves as a strategic platform to demonstrate the aviation industry’s significant contributions to economic and technological progress, as well as its role in strengthening sovereignty and security. As one of the major suppliers to both civil and military aerospace programs, Diehl Aviation presents pioneering solutions that contribute to a more sustainable, reliable, and high-performing aviation industry.
Avionics Expertise at the Forefront
One of the highlights of Diehl’s presence is its advanced avionics expertise, delivered by Diehl Aerospace, a joint venture with Thales. With its Generic Computing Modules, the company offers a future-ready solution that integrates multiple aircraft functions into a single modular computing unit, while also providing solutions for various system architectures up to an IMA* platform. Designed for flexibility and scalability, the system is suitable for a wide range of platforms – from next-generation eVTOLs to large aircraft.
Key advantages include a certified, open and modular architecture, as well es a reduction in size and weight. Different types and technologies of computing modules support the individual needs of various applications. A seamless integration of cockpit systems, flight control, power management, and aircraft system functions, and a future-proof design supporting high functional integration and third-party compatibility are key features of this technology.
Diehl Aviation is also unveiling a flight control demonstrator, showcasing a full electrical fly-by-wire control loop. This demonstrator combines flight control and actuator technology – in collaboration with WITTENSTEIN motion control – in a fully integrated joint solution. The exhibit clearly demonstrates how pilot input via sidestick translates into precise mechanical movement via smart electrical actuation. The solution is highly scalable and adaptable for various aircraft platforms.
Avionics from Diehl play a key role in the Future Combat Air System (FCAS), Europe’s most ambitious defense program. The company contributes core capabilities in high-criticality computing and advanced display technologies. At the center of this contribution are highly performant avionics solutions designed to process vast volumes of mission data, apply artificial intelligence to support pilot decision-making, and deliver mission-critical information clearly, securely and in real time. As Germany’s leading avionics supplier, Diehl is also developing modular computing platforms based on IMA* architecture. Whether for the Next Generation Fighter or Remote Carriers, Diehl is helping lay the technological foundation for the future of air combat.
Smart, lightweight and designed with sustainability in mind
Resource-saving technologies are a cornerstone of Diehl Aviation’s strategy. In its ECO Efficiency Space, the company displays innovative materials and smart technologies that support the transition to more eco-efficient aviation. From recyclable thermoplastics to lightweight composite structures and advanced lighting systems, Diehl´s solutions aim to reduce CO₂ emissions and enable circular material use across the aircraft lifecycle.
Featuring a panoramic rear screen, the interactive cabin demonstrator allows for a virtual tour highlighting the company’s capabilities in upgrade solutions, integrated lighting, panel loudspeakers, and smoke detection systems – technologies designed to enhance cabin performance, passenger comfort, and operational efficiency.
To offer a tangible look into these and other advancements, Diehl Aviation invites visitors to explore its innovations at booth B317, Hall 2c.
