Embraer recognizes design innovation, usability and system architecture as well as outstanding product quality and a highly reliable supply chain.
Diehl Aerospace, a joint venture of Diehl Aviation and Thales has been awarded the Embraer Best Supplier Award 2021 in the category “Interior” at an online ceremony on December 2nd. With this award, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer recognizes design innovation, usability and system architecture, as well as Diehl's outstanding product quality and highly reliable supply chain. In addition, the Best Supplier Award recognizes Diehl's ability to design and manufacture a state-of-the-art lighting and cabin management system with the needs of the market in mind.
"We are very pleased to receive this special award from our customer Embraer," said Dr. Gerardo Walle, Chief Executive Officer of Diehl Aerospace. "We were already assigned by Embraer to develop the entire cabin lighting, Passenger Service Units and cabin management system for the new E2 family, in 2013. We are proud that our joint products are part of this outstanding aircraft and it is a very special honor for the entire Diehl team to receive this award for our long-standing and reliable cooperation."
Since 2015, the company has been supplying a product package for the Embraer E-Jet E2 family, consisting of the Cabin Lighting System, the Passenger Service Unit, the Emergency Lighting System, and the Cabin Management System. With the development of this package, Diehl Aviation received for the first time a direct order from the fourth largest aircraft manufacturer in the world. The current three variants of the young E-Jet E2 family - the E190-E2, E195-E2 and the E175-E2 - are among the most modern twin-engine medium-haul aircraft.
