The aviation supplier Diehl Aviation is continuing its global strategy by opening its second Customer Collaboration Space in Hamburg on August 28, 2024. This step comes after the successful introduction of the first space in Seattle, Washington, USA, and highlights Diehl’s commitment to operating close to its customers worldwide to better understand and meet their needs.

“Our Customer Collaboration Spaces are a central component of our strategic goals,” says Harald Mehring, CCO of Diehl Aviation. “By collaborating closely with our customers and partners in these innovative environments, we are shaping the future of aviation and promoting our technological and innovative leadership in the industry.”

The new Hamburg Collaboration Space offers a flexible, dynamic environment that is divided into various areas. These include the Innovation Exhibit Area, which shows prototypes and exhibits that are always changing; and the Collaborative Workshop Area, where ideas are developed and refined together with customers and partners. This versatile room layout promotes collaboration across locational and functional boundaries and strengthens the innovative process. This has been borne out by the experiences with the Collaboration Space in Seattle, which Diehl Aviation has been operating for around a year.

“To better understand our customers’ needs and develop customized solutions for them, we want to actively obtain customer feedback and work on changing things together,” Mehring emphasizes. Cooperating closely with customers in the Customer Collaboration Space allows Diehl Aviation to identify market requirements early on and develop modular, highly integrated solutions together with the customers. What sets this apart: Diehl Aviation’s entire range of skills and products can basically be used in the Collaboration Space, which offers the customers a tremendous advantage.

Many customers and partners attended the opening celebration of the new Customer Collaboration Space in Hamburg, as did Hamburg’s Senator for the Economy and Innovation, Dr. Melanie Leonhard. In her opening address, she said: “Hamburg is one of the world's leading aviation centers. Companies in the aviation industry find here a close network of customers and partners from business, science and politics. Diehl Aviation's new Customer Collaboration Space will now further strengthen the cabin portfolio in Hamburg. This new experience space involves aircraft manufacturers and airlines in the development process at an early stage. This is good for the companies and for Hamburg as an aviation location as a whole.”

The opening of the Customer Collaboration Space in Hamburg marks an additional milestone for Diehl’s strategy of continually expanding its customer base of airlines and aircraft manufacturers. And absolute customer focus and continual innovation will lead the way. So the Customer Collaboration Space will create the ideal environment for working on the future of aviation together with customers and partners.
