Diehl Aviation today officially inaugurated its new site in Querétaro, Mexico, with a festive ceremony attended by high-ranking representatives from Mexican politics as well as customers from the international aviation industry. This event marks the completion of the next strategic step in the expansion of the German aviation supplier’s footprint in the Americas, strengthening its proximity to its customers across the region.

The new facility, located in the PyMe Industrial Park near Santiago de Querétaro, offers more than 8,200 square meters of production and office space. A second expansion phase is already planned, adding between 4,000 and 6,000 square meters. With a total investment in the double-digit million Euro range, the new site underlines Diehl Aviation’s long-term commitment to the region.

Production at the Querétaro site will start shortly after the official inauguration. The facility will manufacture a variety of components for the civil aviation sector, including the extra-spacious overhead stowage compartments for the Airbus A220. The production of interior components for Eve’s eVTOL is also planned for a later date. While approximately 20 employees are currently on site, the workforce is expected to grow to around 500 people over the medium term.

By establishing its presence in Querétaro, Diehl Aviation is positioning itself even closer to major customers such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, and Embraer. The location offers significant advantages: time zone alignment with final assembly lines in Brazil, Canada, and the U.S., reduced transport times, and a stronger local supply chain. In addition, Querétaro’s well-developed infrastructure and its status as one of Mexico’s leading aerospace hubs create an ideal environment for growth.

“Opening our new site in Querétaro is a big milestone in Diehl Aviation’s global strategy,” said Jörg Schuler, CEO of Diehl Aviation. “This step brings us even closer to our customers in the Americas, enabling faster collaboration, higher efficiency, and greater responsiveness. At the same time, we are proud to contribute to the dynamic development of the Mexican aerospace sector by creating jobs and building competencies in the region.”

Celebrating with Politics and Industry Leaders

The grand opening was honored by the participation of Governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González; Mayor of El Marqués, Rodrigo Monsalvo Castelán; Maestra (Mtra) Liliana San Martín, Secretary of Labor of the State of Querétaro; and Head of the Economic Department at the German Embassy in Mexico, Gunnar Schneider, along with senior executives from key customer companies. Their presence underscored both the local and international significance of the new facility for the aerospace industry.
