Diehl Aviation has commissioned a new leased warehouse facility in Nyírbátor, Hungary, further strengthening its logistics infrastructure to support increasing aircraft production rates across key programs.
The logistics site offers approximately 3,000 square meters of floor space and is located close to Diehl Aviation Hungary’s main production facility in Nyírbátor. The additional capacity enables a more robust material supply setup and supports stable production flows as aircraft manufactures build rates continue to increase.
The global aviation industry is experiencing a period of significant growth, marked by a rise in aircraft demand and higher program rates. In response, Diehl Aviation is expanding its operational capabilities and enhancing its supply chain resilience. The establishment of additional dual-site capabilities is a targeted measure to secure material availability and logistics performance for future rate increases. The decision to implement a permanent external warehouse was driven by an increase in single-aisle lavatory production and growing volumes in several aircraft programs.
The warehouse is designed for efficient, safe, and scalable logistics operations and provides storage capacity for up to 5,700 pallets. It includes defined areas for storage, picking, and handling. The warehouse is fully integrated into Diehl Aviation’s internal logistics organization.
“Our industry is entering a decisive phase of sustained production ramp-up, and logistics performance is a critical enabler,” said Jochen Klink, Chief Operating Officer at Diehl Aviation. “The new warehouse in Nyírbátor strengthens our logistics backbone, supports the ramp-up of major programs, and ensures a stable supply to our customers. It also reinforces our dual-site setup in Hungary and prepares us for further rate increases.”
With the new warehouse in operation, Diehl Aviation continues to expand its manufacturing and logistics capabilities in Hungary. Today, approximately 1.300 employees work at Diehl Aviation’s Hungarian sites in Nyírbátor and Debrecen, making Nyírbátor the company’s second-largest location worldwide by workforce.
At the Nyírbátor site, Diehl Aviation manufactures a broad portfolio of cabin interior components, including sidewalls, door frames and insulation elements, air distribution ducting, and lavatories for single-aisle aircraft. With two large-scale lavatory production lines now in operation in Nyírbátor and Hamburg, Diehl Aviation is well positioned to support the upcoming ramp-up of single-aisle aircraft programs with sufficient capacity and flexibility.
