Lining

The interior lining of an aircraft is much more than just an aesthetic feature; it influences passenger comfort and safety, as well as the airline's brand identity. Diehl Aviation provides impressive lining solutions for the passenger cabin, cockpit and cargo aircraft.

Lining Lining
  • Cabin Ceiling

For a long time, the cabin ceiling was considered purely functional. However, with the development of light-flooded elements, Diehl Aviation has set a new standard, creating an inviting atmosphere in the entrance area and increasing the feel-good factor throughout the cabin. Since delivering the illuminated Cabin and Entrance Ceiling for the first time in 2021, Diehl Aviation's concept has been adopted for around one in three aircraft. As well as enhancing comfort, the concept offers other key advantages, including low weight, minimal space requirements and maximum efficiency.

  • Sidewall

Every year, numerous bespoke sidewalls are produced at the Laupheim factory. These are currently used in all standard aircraft models. Thanks to automated processes, Diehl Aviation is able to offer its customers the highest levels of quality and reliability at all times. At the same time, Diehl Aviation is setting new standards with its innovations. The ECO Sidewall, for instance, won the Crystal Cabin Award in 2024.

  • Premium Sidewalls for Business Jets

In addition to providing solutions for passenger aircraft, Diehl Aviation develops and manufactures high-quality sidewalls for business jets, particularly for the Bombardier range. These panels meet the highest design, comfort and functionality standards.

  • Door Frame Lining

The lining around aircraft doors must be particularly robust, and insulating the joints is especially important given that outside temperatures can drop to minus 50 degrees Celsius. Diehl Aviation is the only manufacturer worldwide to use innovative vacuum insulation panels for door frame lining. These ultra-thin insulation materials are around five to ten times more effective than conventional materials such as glass wool, yet they do not take up any additional space.
