Kingston, Jamaica. For five years now, Diehl Metering has been making a significant contribution to improving the water supply in Jamaica with its smart technologies. For a holistic approach, the country is now to be supported in the education sector as well as in business.

To this end, together with interested young people, the project will look beyond the horizon and illuminate everything to do with smart metering. The cornerstone for this is an agreement for a Summer Intership program between the renowned Jamaican University of Technology (UTech), the National Water Commission and Diehl Metering. Sharing knowledge and benefiting globally from each other's expertise - with the agreed cooperation and the "Giving Back Programme" this will soon no longer be a dream of the future.

With UTech, the leading university for technical studies in Jamaica (a famous graduate: multiple Olympic champion Usain Bolt), the program has gained a top-class partner. In the coming months, the details of the exchange programme will be fixed and interested parties will be sought. These include visits by young students to Diehl Metering's German sites.

In the course of the digitization, a further 450,000 Hydrus ultrasonic water meters will be installed by the National Water Commission (NWC) over the next few years.
