Lead-free coating solutions for connection technology

The strategic business fieldDiehl Metal Applications is working on new types of galvanised surfaces to replace lead with indium, tin or silver, while costs are simultaneously kept attractive through selective coating procedures.

This especially applies to the press-fit zone technology using electroplated copper components in circuit boards thus providing reliable, solder-free connections. These joining technologies are used above all in vehicles as they are suited very well to meet the high requirements regarding operational reliability.
