Diehl Defence exhibits again at IDEX 2023, taking place in Abu Dhabi (UAE) from February 20 to 24.

The company is a leading supplier of state-of-the-art air defence systems, high-tech guided missiles, innovative ammunition solutions as well as special reconnaissance and protection systems and will display its products at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on 315 qm in hall 8, booth number D30.

Part of its exhibited product portfolio is the combat proven ground-based air defence (GBAD) system
IRIS-T SLM. The system consists of the components missile launcher, multifunctional radar and TOC (tactical operations centre). The modular system, which is currently in operation in an area of conflict, offers 360° protection of areas as well as high value targets, such as cities, power plants, offshore platforms and other critical infrastructure, covering short up to medium ranges.

Furthermore, Diehl Defence will exhibit the HPEM SkyWolf C-UAS effector at IDEX. High-Power Electromagnetic (HPEM) systems from Diehl Defence are designed to counter threats from the air, by interfering with the control electronics inside unmanned aerial systems through short electromagnetic pulses. Therefore, HPEM systems are particularly suited as defence installations against unmanned aerial systems or drones for short ranges without causing collateral damage.

In combination, Diehl Defence GBAD and HPEM systems provide excellent defence capabilities for the protection of public events or ground infrastructure, such as settlements, transport and industrial facilities as well as energy installations such as oilrigs or refineries. Also, the systems can be used to protect transport ways such as canals or natural waterways as well as military missions.

The current global security situation favours investments in defence systems that offer protection against hostile attacks, such as attacks from manned aircraft, unmanned aerial systems and helicopters. Capabilities, which are also of value to the Middle East region, which is why Diehl Defence is pleased to present its products and capabilities to the interested trade public at IDEX in Abu Dhabi.
