Diehl Metering's Sustainability Journey
In previous years, Diehl Metering exclusively submitted its Saint-Louis site in France for assessment by EcoVadis(Saint-Louis Gold Medal 2022; Saint-Louis site achieves Gold 2020 ). Last year, we decided to measure and monitor our company’s progress more widely by requesting a global evaluation of all sites, as well as additional ratings of individual sites. This change in strategy reflects our desire to uphold the same demanding standards of sustainability across the whole company.
Ecovadis recognition
EcoVadis rates companies out of 100 for their performance in 21 sustainable criteria covering a broad range of non-financial management systems. These include Environment, Labor & human rights, Ethics, and Sustainable procurement. For our first multi-site evaluation, EcoVadis awarded us its Bronze recognition level. An overall score of 55/100 ranked us in the top 27% of companies in the sector worldwide, and we were particularly strongly evaluated in the “environment” category with a score of 70/100.
Saint-Louis Site Shines with Gold, Jinan Site Earns Bronze
In individual assessments, all our sites earned EcoVadis medals. Saint-Louis maintained its gold recognition level for the fourth year in a row – and also improved overall sustainability with a score of 73/100. This achievement was even more notable because the EcoVadis criteria were revised upwards last year.
In China, Diehl Metering (Jinan) Co. Ltd. Made a strong debut by securing a Bronze medal, attaining a good overall score of 58/100. And the year ended on a positive note when our Bażanowice site in Poland earned a silver medal for its first EcoVadis assessment.
2023: A Milestone for Diehl Metering
These achievements are part of a landmark year for Diehl Metering in terms of sustainability. They also form an excellent foundation for us to build in the future, as we set ourselves new targets with renewed ambitions, and continue our journey to empower a sustainable future.
