The SHARKY 775 is Diehl Metering’s ultrasonic energy meter for heating and cooling applications. Thanks to its multiple connectivity options and long-lasting performance, the meter continually transmits a wealth of precise data to drive your distribution network’s energy efficiency to new heights. Download our new brochure to discover details of all the meter’s main characteristics and benefits.
The SHARKY 775 compact energy meter is designed for a wide range of use cases and configurations. The key to its flexibility? An exceptional ability to support different communication technologies. The meter comes with integrated radio that uses the manufacturer-independent OMS (Open Metering System) communication standard, enabling interoperability with various systems as well as other meters and sensors. Once installed, SHARKY 775 is ready for mobile readout or fully automatic readout via a fixed network without configuration. Furthermore, two additional slots allow customers to easily integrate further connectivity modules such as M-Bus, L-Bus or LoRaWAN. This means SHARKY can be used for additional communication technologies as needed.
The flexibility of SHARKY extends to its robustness, enabling it to consistently deliver reliability and precision under almost any conditions. During a recent heat meter test program conducted by AGFW, an energy efficiency association for heating and cooling, the SHARKY 775 was awarded the maximum 5 stars for measurement accuracy and stability. Because the meter’s ultrasonic technology does not rely on moving parts, it is able to resist wear and tear over time. This makes it well-suited to challenging climates, such as arid deserts or the high-chlorine and high-sulfur environment of geothermal water. In addition, its battery can last up to 20 years.
By collecting regular and comprehensive data about the distribution network, the SHARKY 775 compact energy meter forms the basis for informed decision-making. This, in turn, drives network efficiency. The meter is capable of transmitting forward and return temperatures, flow rates, current output, energy consumption and alarm messages on an ongoing basis. In a Diehl Metering fixed network, these readings are received on a regular basis via data receivers, and analyzed using our IZAR Meter Data Management software (MDM). The insights this generates can be used to drive energy efficiency, increase cost efficiency, and even create new services for consumers.
