Ms. Budnick is a former regular soldier. In the context of this short interview, Ms. Budnick talks about her beginnings at Diehl Defence as well as new tasks and employer benefits which count at the end of the day. Are you also planning to change your job and you are still missing the crucial moment of inspiration? Read below what Ms. Budnick has to say.
How did your way to Diehl as employer look like?
Ms. Budnick: "After 15 years at the German Bundeswehr it was clear that it is time for something new. The starting signal were my studies of industrial engineering in 2019 which I am still dedicating myself to. I became aware of Diehl Defence thanks to friends. After the first contact, I did a three-month trial internship and I have been employed as project manager for air defence systems since October 1, 2021."
Which roles do you assume in your current position at Diehl Defence?
Ms. Budnick: "Having worked at the German Bundeswehr has taught me to not only understand the needs of the armed forces but also the industry. This is why I act as intermediary in my projects, I am mediating between the Bundeswehr and our engineers, translating the requirements, demands and progresses and even formulating them clearer."
What type of person can be successful at Diehl Defence?
Ms. Budnick: "To make a long story short: everybody. Everybody is welcome, no matter where he or she comes from, what he or she believes in or whom he or she is in love with. The fact is: Diverse teams render a company unique. Different skills and opinions shape the culture, give new impulses and make innovations possible in the first place."
What makes Diehl different from other employers or what makes Diehl even better than other employers?
Ms. Budnick: "The employer shows appreciation. I will give you an example: Our CEO, Mr. Rauch asked for a conversation shortly after my start because he wanted to know how well I have settled in. For me, this is a sign of pure appreciation. Within our team, we have open and constructive dialogues. A prerequisite for this are confidence and respect."
