Helmut Rauch, Diehl Defence CEO, laid the foundation stone for a new warehouse and office building at the company's head office in Überlingen in the presence of the First Mayor of Überlingen Jan Zeitler. These extensions, carried out by Goldbeck Süd GmbH as prime contractor, have become necessary because Diehl Defence's existing capacities at the Überlingen location are no longer sufficient, especially for development and production.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, Diehl Defence records a positive business development accompanied by an increasing demand for building space. In order to meet this need, the company is currently erecting a new building complex with approximately 3,400 square meters usable space in an easterly direction of the existing works premises in Überlingen. The new building allows the enlargement of the production surface elsewhere on the works premises and takes into account the envisaged personnel increase.
"Of special importance for us, with regard to the new building project, was also the environmentally friendly construction including state-of-the-art technology, LED lightning, concrete core activation as well as a modern photovoltaic plant on the green roof emphasizing the sustainability concept at the location in Überlingen," Rauch underlines. "We would like to express our thanks to the city of Überlingen and the building supervisory authority for having made possible the quick implementation of this objective," he added.
First Mayor Zeitler summarized "With this building project, Diehl Defence makes another contribution to the strengthening of the business location Überlingen and thus further secures highly qualified, knowledge-based jobs and training occupations in our city.
