Diehl Defence, a leading system house for guided missiles and ground-based air defence systems, will feature a strong trade fair presence at ILA 2024 in Berlin from June 5 to 9. In addition to the booth in hall 2 (booth no. 210) on the exhibition grounds at BER Airport, the company will be present with an enlarged, extensive exhibition in the large-scale Defence Park, which will be set up for the first time this year.

At the exhibition area in the Defence Park, Diehl Defence will be showcasing a complete combat unit of the IRIS-T SLM ground-based air defence (GBAD) system, as well as a highly mobile GBAD system for short ranges, called IRIS-T SLS Mk. III. In addition, the protection system "GUARDION for GBAD" for drone defence will be exhibited which is based on HPEM (high-power electro-magnetics) technology.

The exhibition of the IRIS-T SLM system, which has been in service successfully with the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2022 and has been combat-proven ever since, will be marked by the upcoming delivery of the first combat unit of such a system to the German Air Force – the first of a total of six units procured by the German customer in 2023.

IRIS-T SLM also plays an essential role in the European Sky Shield Initiative (ESSI), which was initiated by the German government to improve the ground-based air defence capabilities of European countries.

The Diehl Defence exhibition at the Defence Park also includes a novelty: For the first time, a model of the missile for the GBAD system IRIS-T SLX, which is currently under development, will be shown. As a further development, IRIS-T SLX will complete the Diehl Defence GBAD portfolio with a system covering ranges of up to 80 km.

During ILA 2024, besides GBAD systems, also guided missiles and future technologies will be in the spotlight. In addition to series products, e.g. the IRIS-T guided missile as fighter armament, the company will also be presenting the completely new design of a Light Remote Carrier for the first time at its booth in hall 2, which is designed within the FCAS context and beyond for future air forces and other branches of the armed forces.
