Diehl Defence has acquired a plot of land from the city of Überlingen for the expansion of its existing site on Lake Constance. Überlingen is already home to Diehl Defence's corporate headquarters and is one of its three major locations.
The acquired piece of land is directly adjacent to Diehl Defence's existing property in Überlingen and is therefore ideally suited to meet the company's growing space requirements without having to create a new location.
A new administration building is to be built on the plot, which covers 8,000 square meters and was the location of the former municipal road maintenance depot. The new building will provide space for offices and social rooms as well as a so-called Diehl Academy on four floors. In addition, three more floors will be created for parking as well as a representative entrance area.
With this decision to expand the existing location, Diehl Defence is committed to Überlingen and builds on the long-standing, good cooperation with the municipality and the local authorities.
The company has been on a growth path for several years, which will continue in the near future. Diehl Defence currently has about 1,200 employees at the Überlingen location and expects this number to grow to about 1,600 by 2025. At the Diehl location in Überlingen, the affiliated company Diehl Aerospace also employs about 300 employees. Further growth is also expected there, so that Diehl will have a total of up to 2,000 employees at Alte Nussdorfer Strasse in 2025.
