Tarsier develops modern airspace surveillance systems. Our systems protect facilities against the new aerial threat created by the malicious or negligent use of drones. Tarsier was founded at Stanford University in early 2017, is a member of NVIDIA’s Inception program, and is backed by Alchemist Accelerator, an accelerator focused exclusively on enterprise startups and backed by leading venture capitalists and Silicon Valley firms such as DFJ, Salesforce, and Cisco. Tarsier is based in San Francisco and Munich.

For our affiliated company Tarsier GmbH in Munich we are looking for a:

Artificial Intelligence / Computer Vision Engineer (m/w/d)

Our Vision – Your Mission

  • Work closely with the founding team to define the product and company strategy
  • Improve the end-to-end deep learning pipeline from data acquisition to model evaluation
  • Optimize the existing detection system regarding algorithm design
  • Develop further partnerships with partner companies or research institutes (e.g. Fraunhofer)
  • Identify opportunities to use machine learning to improve data quality or the types of analysis
  • Quickly prototype and iterate on new concepts, and prioritize them based on customer needs
  • Work closely with hardware development engineers to select or improve sensors, and design image capture strategies

Our Expectation – Your Profession

  • Study of computer science, mathematics, physics or a similar subject area
  • Experience in implementing and using deep learning frameworks from data acquisition to model evaluation
  • A good understanding of applicable best practices, tools (e.g. OpenCV) and methods (e.g. Object Detection, Time-Frequency Analysis)
  • Good programming skills (Python required, C++ desirable)
