When Boeing's research aircraft lands in Glasgow, Scotland, Diehl Aviation will be joining the Boeing Innovation Forum as an exhibitor.
Diehl Aviation is one of the key partners to exhibit at the Boeing Innovation Forum. This event takes place as an exhibition on the grounds of Glasgow Airport. The event's motto is Sustainability and Innovation for the Future.
Together with other partners, Diehl Aviation is part of Boeing Global Services' joint booth, which showcases key trends and related innovations. One of the key areas is the management of large amounts of data on board of aircraft. Diehl Aviation is particularly involved in the area of data and health management by providing its own solutions and concepts: In this context, integrative requirements regarding the collection and processing of aircraft data must be met, such as their integrity and sovereignty. Likewise, interoperability is crucial, meaning the exchange of data at interfaces between different devices and systems - in the air and on the ground.
Current work statuses from joint research and development will also be presented in Glasgow. Diehl is directly involved as a joint partner in the aviation research programs OPs-TIMAL and i+s Cabin. Both research projects aim at an optimized and fully harmonized data management during all phases of flight and during the operation of aircraft.
Sustainability in aviation is taking on a central role in Glasgow. Grey Water Reuse Unit is a further innovative concept by Diehl Aviation to reduce water consumption on board commercial aircraft and thus also weight. This new technology recycles service water from the sinks of on-board toilets to be used for toilet flushing.
