As one of the eight founders of the MIOTY Alliance, Diehl Metering was proud to contribute to the launch of a next generation wireless communication technology at the “embedded world” Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany, 25-27 February, 2020.

Designed to become a worldwide standard for the Internet of Things (IoT), the software-based MIOTY technology offers an alternative to the limitations of common Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) solutions. It is hardware-independent, scalable and secure. That makes it an attractive futureproof option for Smart Cities and Industry 4.0, as well as anyone operating in mobility, security, management and health.

Thanks to MIOTY’s patented telegram splitting technology, small data packets are sent with unmatched interference immunity and ultra-low power consumption. Furthermore, data can be transferred over 15 kilometers and collected from moving devices at 120 km/h. This makes it an ideal protocol for Massive IoT.

The official launch of MIOTY took place on 25 February, 2020, at the founding members’ booths of “embedded world”. Diehl Metering CEO, Dr. Christof Bosbach was present in his capacity as member of the Alliance’s Advisory Board.

Thanks to its reliable data transfer, low power, and capacity to support long-range networks, MIOTY is set for a bright future. It is destined to become a major standard for the next generation of Massive IoT.
