The industrial working group of Diehl Defence and Nammo (ARGE DiNa 155mm) received a large-volume order from the German Armed Forces for the production and delivery of 155mm artillery projectiles.

Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch together with Nammo Executive Vice President Vegard Sande signed the framework agreement with Annette Lehnigk-Emden, President of the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) on July 9 in Coblenz.

The signing of the contract represents a substantial expansion of the framework agreement already signed last year and is a clear sign to ensure the security of supply of 155mm artillery ammunition for the German Armed Forces and their allies. At the same time, this framework agreement is a further sign of confidence to Diehl Defence and underlines the intention to procure large-caliber ammunition over the long term. Such a long-term approach enables the industry to build up the necessary production capacities in Germany.

Together with the contract signing, a significant order retrieval for 155mm artillery projectiles was also agreed, which forms the basis for the expansion of a national production line.
The ARGE DiNa 155 industrial working group is a true defence partnership combining the strengths of German production with Nordic technology. It is based on a proven collaboration between companies of similar size with a deep commitment to technology leadership that has produced results of high complexity over time in various military programs.

Since the signing of the first framework agreement last year, Diehl Defence has been working with its cooperation partners on the buildup of national production capacities in order to be able to deliver as soon and reliably as possible. Especially in the field of explosives, ARGE DiNA 155mm can reliably fall back on the bottleneck resource of explosives manufactured in Germany thanks to its cooperation with Chemring Nobel AS and Dynamit Nobel Defence, and guarantee its availability.

Helmut Rauch, CEO Diehl Defence, explained: "We are very pleased to have been awarded the largest framework contract for conventional ammunition in the history of Diehl Defence. This contract confirms the trust in us and the reliability of our company. In addition, we strengthen our long-standing and successful cooperation with the company Nammo."

Morten Brandtzæg, President & CEO of Nammo, said: "This significant order underscores the strong and enduring partnership between Nammo and Diehl Defence. Our combined expertise and commitment to excellence ensure that we can meet the high demands of the German Armed Forces reliably and efficiently. We are proud to contribute to this vital project and look forward to continued collaboration."

This contract represents the completion of the portfolio in the field of indirect fire/artillery for Diehl Defence. Besides the already known products of the ammunition family VULCANO (cooperation with LEONARDO) and SMArt 155 (cooperation with Rheinmetall), in the future Diehl Defence will be able to provide range-extended 155mm explosive projectiles of the new generation, and as a complement, the appropriate course correction module 2DGMArt.
Also in the field of rocket artillery, Diehl Defence, together with its cooperation partners, is the leading German system house for artillery effectors.
