Today, the foundation stone was laid for a further building complex at the Röthenbach location as part of a comprehensive site development. Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch hosted the event together with Diehl Energy Products (DEP) CEO Dr. Dominik Clément and welcomed the District Administrator Armin Kroder, first mayor Klaus Hacker as well as the shareholder of the property developer Max Bögl, Johann Bögl, in order to acknowledge this important milestone in the company's development.

Today's laying of the foundation stone at the Röthenbach location took place at the building site where the new premises of the DEP subsidiary and the car park will be erected. The building for DEP will be put into operation at the beginning of the new year and will cover a surface of more than 7,000 sqm on the ground floor for development, production and logistics as well as more than 3,700 sqm surface on the first floor for offices and a roof terrace. Thus, the new building offers space for 120 DEP employees. The car park accommodates with more than 600 parking spaces for the whole location and will be completed by the middle of 2024.

Diehl Defence has been experiencing a period of strong growth in the past years, which has been further enhanced by the “turning point” since 2022. This is why the company has started to substantially extend its infrastructure at all locations to be able to meet the customers’ growing demand with appropriate capacity.

Helmut Rauch, Diehl Defence CEO, stated: "Diehl Defence takes a further large step on its path of growth with today's laying of the foundation stone. Thanks to this and following expansion measures in Röthenbach and elsewhere, we are adjusting to the increasing demand of our customers in Germany and other NATO countries."

Besides the construction of the car park and the new DEP complex, further buildings for administration, production, integration, logistics, testing of systems, as well as training will be built at Diehl Defence in Röthenbach by the end of 2026. The company is investing several hundred million euros in measures at all locations to master the predicted growth. These measures include, besides building projects, also expenses for production facilities.

In the course of growth, the number of employees at Diehl Defence will soon reach 4,000. Currently more than 1,000 of these employees are located in Röthenbach.
