In 2013, Diehl Metering started conducting tests of unidirectional water systems with Zakład Wodociagow i Kanalizacji Sp. z o.o., a water utility company operating a network covering 2,118 km and comprising approximately 45,000 meters in Lodz, Central Poland.
The water supply company was using meters in multi-stream technology and faced regular flooding of meter wells in difficult environments. By switching to volumetric meters, Zakład Wodociagow i Kanalizacji was able to reduce water losses from 11.5% in 2013 to 5.5% in 2019. These convincing results led to the decision to switch definitively to a unidirectional system, for the obvious advantages of remote reading, optimal meter reading speed and reliability.
As a result of the offer competition announced in 2019, the Water and Sewage Company chose Diehl Metering because of the quality, reliability, accuracy and safety of its solution. Currently the contract concerns the installation of remote water meters Altair V4 and Aquila V4 using IZAR BE Pulse (water meter wells) and the radio module IZAR RC 868i W R4. For the Lodz water utility company, this means increased measurement accuracy, fewer losses, and reliable remote readings regardless of conditions.
