As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have assessed a new ISO 45001 (health and safety in the workplace) certification, marking an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to high standards. This certification comes completing the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications we already operate.
What is ISO 45001
ISO 45001 is an international standard that specifies the requirements to be met by an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. It defines the criteria for establishing policy and objectives, as well as for planning, implementing, achieving operational objectives, auditing and reviewing. Implementing ISO 45001 offers significant value to organizations seeking to limit workplace incidents and demonstrate their commitment to OH&S.
This new certification underlines our deep commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for our employees.
Benefits of Certification ISO 45001
- For our Employees, it aims to create a safer working environment by reducing workplace incidents and minimizing risks, which in turn decreases the number of injuries and illnesses. Fewer incidents result in lower absenteeism, as employees remain healthier and more consistently at work. Additionally, when employees feel their health and safety are prioritized, their job satisfaction and morale improve. This positive environment encourages employees to engage in the development and implementation of the occupational health and safety management system, fostering greater commitment and a stronger safety culture.
- For our Clients and Partners, it demonstrates our commitment to high safety standards, which build trust. ISO 45001 certification provides a solid framework for ensuring legal compliance. Working with a company that adheres to high health and safety standards reduces risks; this can lead to more stable and reliable partnerships.
Achieving ISO 45001 certification is a journey to a safer, more efficient, and more reputable organization, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
Certification Journey
We retained and renewed our multi-site ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications in June last year, following a rigorous audit process at key sites: Saint-Louis (France), Bazanowice (Poland), Nuremberg (Germany), Jinan (China), and Vienna (Austria). This year, a week-long audit was conducted across all German sites (Nuremberg, Ansbach, and Apolda). The audits covered all three ISO certifications for our corporate global management.
Future Commitments
The audit results were highly positive. The auditors provided recommendations for further enhancing Diehl Metering's management systems that we are proactively addressing by developing a more standardized method for assessing legal requirements. Additionally, efforts are underway to enhance the management of work instructions and workstations, ensuring clarity and consistency across all locations.
