I planned my career together with Diehl already as a student.

Roland Gottschalk, Head of Section Validation & Approvals, and his team want to guarantee 100 % customer satisfaction towards our developed solutions at Diehl Metering.

Put Your Knowledge to the Test

Diehl needs students who think ahead, and students benefit from Diehl. If you wish to collect a valuable first working experience that complements and enriches your academic learning – and maybe already lay the foundation of your future career – you should look into the many exciting opportunities we offer you.

Why Students Are So Important for Diehl

At Diehl we strive to shape the technologies of the future in many areas of modern life and work. In order to live up to this high ambition, we have to get in touch with tomorrow’s experts today. This is why we strongly commit ourselves through cooperations with various universities and offer attractive options for students both before and directly after their graduation.

Find below an overview of available programs and measures. By the way: You can learn more about our university-related activities on German websites such as ”Jobware“ and ”Berufsstart“, as well as in the most important university magazines.

All Options for Students at a Glance

We think the best way to get to know each other is face-to-face. Therefore, we offer Business Unit visits for young academics on a regular basis.

One example of these visits are the “Praxistage” (“practice days”) in the Nuremberg metropolitan region, which our Corporate Divisions Metering and Metall stage in cooperation with the Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences (TH Nuremberg).

In addition to that, we always like to talk to interested people at the Job Fairs which take place at roughly a dozen German universities. Moreover, we give practical support to our students as we offer free job-application training.

In the Diehl Sponsorship Programs, our experts and executives coach students who are in regular exchange with their tutors. As a sponsored student you can do internships with us and you will be invited to internal events such as the Students' Day. Once per semester, our students from the Nuremberg region meet up in order to become more familiar with our group and to engage in networking.

We support particularly gifted and talented students from RWTH Aachen University, from TH Nürnberg and from Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen Nürnberg (FAU) as Diehl scholars over a longer period of time – granting them financial assistance as well. There is even a Diehl Prize: The best business engineer graduating from FAU is selected by the University each year, and, in turn, is rewarded by us.

Numerous specialists and executives have started their career at Diehl as interns or working students in our group.

We are offering challenging and exciting internships to students of both business-related and technical academic disciplines. The internships provide colorful and valuable insights into our projects and processes. We encourage and expect you to make independent contributions to our work, and to realize your own projects according to your focus of study and your individual objectives.

Another option for undergraduates in these disciplines is to become working students at our Business Units. In this case, you will directly become part of the professional practice of our departments, with a clear scope of tasks and a lot of personal freedom.

Students have the option to gather practical experience in addition to their theoretical knowledge by cooperating with us in project-oriented research and bachelor or master theses respectively.
