Diehl Energy Products is a battery manufacturer, who works in cooperation with well-known partners all over the world. Thus we are independent and objective in advising you as well as free in relation to the product choice. Today we primarily produce activatable thermal batteries according to the technology of the global leader EaglePicher Technologies for military applications, customized battery packs in lithium (primary and secondary), nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal-hydride technology for defence, electronics and communication industry. For 20 years we have been producing lithium reserve batteries which are used for proximity, time and multi option fuzes for mortar, artillery and naval guns.
Company Development
Founded as a mere trade company in 1971, Diehl & Eagle-Picher GmbH originally a Joint Venture of EaglePicher, situated in Joplin, Missouri, USA (45% corporate shares), and Diehl Defence, situated in Ueberlingen (55% corporate shares), quickly evolved into one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of special batteries for civil and military applications. Our product portfolio particularly includes activatable thermal batteries, lithium reserve batteries as well as primary and secondary customized battery packs.
Since 2021 Diehl Defence holds 100 % of the shares and its subsidiary operates under the name Diehl Energy Products GmbH.
Future/Perspective
Markets for thermal and lithium thionylchloride reserve batteries are limited and subject to hard competition within Europe. However, we increased our competitiveness by systematic investments in our production systems for both thermal and lithium thionylchloride reserve batteries in order to improve our market share in the future.
Diehl Energy Products plan to expand particularly in the battery pack sector. That applies for the civil as well as for the long-established military field, on which our military know-how shows full effect.
