The Institute of Aircraft Cabin Systems at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) is active in three areas: Research, teaching and technology transfer. Technologically, the institute deals with systems and equipment in the cabin of modern passenger aircraft. Specific focal points in research and teaching are model-based system engineering (MBSE), system security engineering and architecture design for machine learning as well as the use of artificial intelligence in safety-critical systems. In addition, the institute contributes to technology transfer in the areas of cabin electronics and information, communication and service systems for the digitalization of airline business processes. By leveraging its academic knowledge, technical expertise and resources, the institute helps to drive innovation and solve industry-specific challenges through collaborative research, bridging the gap between science and practical application in the aviation sector.

ANS GmbH consists of a strong leadership team of a Airline and MRO executive experts, who know every are thoroughly familiar with all aspects of fleet operations, aircraft maintenance, repair and modification, airworthiness monitoring, and aircraft certification. Within the I+S research project, ANS supports the consortium in identifying the airlines’ and MROs’ overall requirements.

- Researching into the detailed requirements and boundary conditions and the process of cabin inspections, faults, and service.
- Supporting and executing on of the conceptual design of automated and digital replacement processes.
- Evaluating on of the concepts using airline operations methods and supporting in the evaluation of the developed automated inspection system developed.
- Identifying the current requirements for combating the pandemic from the perspective of an airline’s perspective. If necessary, the findings will be developed into innovative solutions and evaluated.
