Keynote speaker and supporter of this year's "German Aerospace Day" in Hamburg: Diehl Aviation
Aerospace supplier Diehl is meeting the challenges presented by the on-going digital transformation of the industry – and the accompanying demands presented by a continually increasing production ramp-up at aircraft manufacturers – head-on. The company will impart its views on the current upheavals in the aerospace industry in a talk at this year's "German Aerospace Day", organized by the BDLI and the regional associations of Hamburg Aviation and Hanse Aerospace.
According to Simon Krasowski, Director of Digital Transformation at Diehl Aviation, this can be categorized as three developments: First, the existing business model frameworks in the industry are changing. Second, the companies in this industry are redefining their 'value-added' services in order to remain successful in the future. And third, a decisive factor in success is the cultural change that is shifting focus to customer-centric services and business models.
The "German Aerospace Day" comes under the auspices of the Federal Coordinator for German Aerospace, Thomas Jarzombek (Member of the Bundestag) and is being held on September 18 at Hamburg airport's 'Terminal Tango'. This year the event is entitled: "Digital Ramp-Up – Supply Chain 4.0". As well as giving the keynote talk, Diehl Aviation – a supporter of the event – will also be exhibiting at the accompanying fair.
Alongside Seattle and Toulouse, Hamburg is one of three leading centers across the world for civil aircraft manufacture and is important to Diehl as more than just a production site: Both the Cabin Retrofit side of the business and the company's Digitalization Hub are headquartered in Hamburg. In addition to this, Diehl is able to offer Airbus premium customer service, being located in close proximity to Airbus' Hamburg site. Furthermore, Diehl also benefits from many of the future-facing advantages Hamburg has to offer, such as the Zentrum für Angewandte Luftfahrtforschung e.V. [Center for Applied Aeronautical Research] (ZAL).
