Axel Fritz

It is probably the fastest filled event hall in whole Nürnberg. Within less than three minutes all 1,000 seats in the heart of the former imperial city are occupied. "It's all about the usual seat," Axel Fritz, who is chairing the Diehl pensioners, states with a smile. Each year, the Christmas party is the pensioner's highlight. In a Christmas atmosphere, like-minded people can wallow in memories and exchange views on the latest developments within the company.

For almost sixty years, the Pensioners Association is an important and esteemed place to go to for many former employees who still see themselves as part of the Diehl family. At the beginning of each month, the general meeting takes place, which is always well frequented. Moreover, once a month the pensioners undertake day trips. The former employees not only go sightseeing but also enjoy meals or coffee and cake together – like they did this year during the journeys to Iphofen and Gunzenhausen. Two common annual vacations must also not be missed. Lake Maggiore and the Hochsauerland region were last year’s destinations. "For us, the sense of togetherness and every event are important. Other appointments simply have to wait," Axel Fritz underlines the solidarity of the Pensioners Association.

For many pensioners, the team spirit as well as the direct contact make the difference. "Many former colleagues also become members when they hear about our joint activities," Axel Fritz states proudly. Apart from numerous happy moments, the pensioners also stick together in case of diseases or funerals. Through the years, close friendships with familiar character have grown among the pensioners.

Diehl is proud of its pensioners who still feel closely connected to the company even after their professional lives. The pensioners share their expert knowledge gained over many years again and again and like to interest young people in joining the company. Many pensioners are on the move into old age with the Pensioners Association.
