Dr. Karl Tragl appointed new Chief Executive Officer of Diehl

The Shareholders and Supervisory Board of the Diehl Group have appointed Dr.-Ing. Karl Tragl (55) as Chief Executive Officer of Diehl Verwaltungs-Stiftung with effect from May 1, 2018.

Dr. Tragl graduated in physics from the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nürnberg and subsequently did his doctorate at the German Aerospace Institute in Oberpfaffenhofen. He started his professional career at Siemens in the field of corporate planning and development as management consultant in restructuring, growth and innovation projects. He later joined Siemens Management Consulting where he finally was in charge of the company’s global frequency-inverter business. Then he switched to the mechanical engineering company Bosch Rexroth AG where Dr. Tragl worked for 16 years. After holding various positions within that company, he took overall charge of it as CEO. He last was employed in the U.S. as Group CEO of Alcoa and, after the company was split up into two independent companies listed on the stock exchange, he was responsible for Arconic’s Engineered Products and Solutions (products made of aluminium, nickel and titanium alloys for the aviation, defence and automotive industries). Dr. Tragl combines his extensive entrepreneurial experience in various industrial sectors with his international knowledge of modern production systems and innovative methods in the fields of Industry 4.0, automation engineering and 3D printing. Dr. Tragl is married and has five children aged between 11 and 24. 

We are pleased that the technology corporation Diehl could gain Dr. Tragl with his outstanding leadership qualities as CEO who will keep it on the path of success with vigor and farsightedness.
