State of the Art

Technical solutions and ideas from our business units are published here in accordance with §3(1) PatG / Art.54(2) EPÜ on a regular basis to provide information about the general state of technology.

Device and procedure for defusing duds
  • J2017-001 | Harald Marzari

The technical solution proposed deals with a device and procedure for defusing duds. Newly developed fuse concepts are usually tested in firing trials.

Thermal analysis of environmental conditions
  • H2015-011 | Dr. Guy Bach, Christophe Munck

La présente invention concerne le domaine des dispositifs et appareils qui sont installés et qui doivent fonctionner correctement dans des environnements très variés, notamment en termes de température.

Freezing Risk Detection
  • H2015-010 | Dr. Guy Bach, Christophe Munck

Certains appareils contenant de l'eau ne supportent pas le gel. Si cela arrive ils éclatent. C'est notamment le cas des compteurs d'eau. L'invention permet de calculer le risque de gel et éventuellement d'envoyer un signal d'alarme.

Precalculation of receive window
  • H2017-029 | Dr. Petra Joppich-Dohlus, Thomas Blank, Stefan Schmitz, Achim Schmidt

Procedure for precalculating the expected receive window of a bidirectional meter on the data concentrator

Pitch-washing-controlled washing machine
  • A2017-006 | Georg Arnold

A device is proposed by means of which the slope of a washing machine drum can be adjusted.

Adaptive personalization of operating steps in household appliances
  • A2017-020 | Tobias Hartmann

The idea is based on a clear assignment of an operating step for a household appliance to a particular user.

Voice Control Device Selection
  • A2017-009 | Matthew Schwind

The system determines which voice controlled device should respond to a user. This is determined by proximity of the user to the device. The system is decentralized where each device shares its data with all other devices and compares the data of all other devices.

Acoustic signals for electronics
  • A2017-007 | Alexander Strauß

The invention is based on acoustic signals that can be generated by electronics when powered. The sounds are generated by components which are required for normal operation but not intended for sound generation.

Status of Household Appliance on Home Lighting System
  • A2017-018 | Marcin Zajac

The idea is to suggest a system which displays the status of a household appliance, e.g. an oven, a washer, a dryer, a dishwasher, a hob or so on. This offers the possibility to get an information about the appliance status through the lighting system. To receive this information no additional devices such as a mobile phone are necessary.

Fiber Optic Knob
  • A2017-016 | Piotr Kijewski

This idea suggests an optical transfer system. The optical transfer system transmits an image of a display located behind electronics of a front panel to the surface of a knob located on the front panel.

Connector with integrated temperature detection
  • A2015-015 | Andreas Brauchle, Simon Bihler

A connector which is not placed correctly on a contact heats up and may catch fire. This risk is particularly high when high currents flow as is the case, for example, in electric-motor electronics.

TC Rotary Knob with Slider Sensor
  • A2015-009 | Mathew Schwind

A rotary knob utilizing capacitive sensing to detect the movement of an indexed ring is suggested. Consumers are interested in a knob with an integrated user interface. Preferably this knob shall be rotating. Further a knob with metal look and feel is preferred, as it gives a worthy appearance.

Low-capacitance design for operation of LEDs with AC power supply
  • G2016-016 | Uwe Nieberlein, Günther Köninger

Glow effects may occur on LED (Light Emitting Diode) light devices operated in an AC network – especially with sinusoidal voltage supply – when in "off" state, i.e. when the light devices are switched off and therefore should be dark.

Procedure for the Production of Protective Coating on an Optical Component and Optical Component with such Protective Coating
  • B2015-033 | Dr. Rudolf Schmid, Matthias Michael Welte, Robert Langer, Thomas Fiedler, Dr. Nicolai Künzner

The technical solution approach concerns a procedure for the production of a protective coating on the surface of an optical component to protect it against impact or damage caused by environmental influences.

Temperature-Resistant Fuze
  • J2014-002 | Martin Kernberger, Harald Marzari, Martin Leonhardt, Dr. Robert Hüttner, Egon Klaussner, Walter Grieb

The technical solution approach describes a temperature-resistant fuze for projectiles with particularly long range and high velocity. Accordingly, temperature resistance, which is of particular importance for high velocities, is achieved through appropriate material selection and advantageous design of individual fuze areas.

Condensed Water Prevention for Touch Control
  • A2013-036 | Pawel Meller

The technical solution approach comprises an additional gasket between a touch foil and a ceramic glass. This additional component is placed in such a way that no air gaps occur during the assembly, so that no moisture can reach the sensible touch sensor area.

Safety-Critical System with Additional Safety Mechanism
  • B2014-023 | Dr. Florian Gagel, Dr. Winfried Rappold

This invention concerns a safety-critical system which comprises at least two physically separate units connected to each other, with at least one additional safety mechanism against unauthorized access and manipulation by unauthorized third parties.

Forecasting Storage Battery Lifetime
  • G2013-012 | Trong Tran

The technical solution approach concerns a procedure or algorithm for forecasting storage battery lifetime.
