Zhuhai Airshow: AVIC Cabin Systems (ACS) and Diehl Aviation sign General Cooperation Agreement
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cover several fields of collaboration of the two aerospace companies
AVIC Cabin Systems Co. Ltd. (ACS), a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China Ltd. (AVIC), and Diehl Aviation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Zhuhai Airshow, taking place this year on November 6th – 11th in Zhuhai, China.
The agreement covers the intention to collaborate in a number of business fields in the Chinese market, particularly in joint procurement and supply chain activities, joint manufacturing projects, and marketing activities for cabin interiors projects in the country. Further details of the organizational setup of the future cooperation are still to be discussed and decided.
Pang Zhen, CEO of ACS, and Rainer von Borstel, Diehl Aviation CEO, signed the agreement in the presence of Chen Yuanxian, EVP of AVIC, during a ceremony held in the chalet of AVIC at the Zhuhai airshow.
The agreement offers both companies mutual benefits, and the partners will be able to join forces to cope with the growing demand for aircraft cabin products worldwide, and in China in particular. China is regarded to be one of the strongest growing aviation markets in the world. ACS and Diehl Aviation are well-positioned to offer enhanced products here by their new partnership, and therefore offer more competitive solutions and create better value for their customers.
In July 2018, AVIC has announced the launch of ACS, combining the forces of AVIC’s subsidiaries that focus on cabin interiors business under one umbrella – FACC and Fesher that provide top quality floor to floor interiors; Thompson Aero Seating and Jiatai focusing on leading edge technologies in business and economy class seats; and AIM Altitude, a market leader of premium monuments and galleys. It provides turnkey and fully integrated cabin solutions in both linefit and retrofit markets. ACS customers include key OEMs such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier and Embraer, as well as to global airlines across the world. This powerful conglomerate of companies that is able to provide integrated turnkey cabin solutions has now linked up with Diehl Aviation, a preferred partner for aircraft manufacturers and operators for supplying aircraft systems and cabin interiors products.
Diehl Aviation is a division of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG and combines all aviation activities of Diehl Group under one roof. In the aviation industry, Diehl Aviation – including Diehl Aerospace (a joint venture with Thales) – is a leading system supplier of aircraft system and cabin solutions. Diehl Aviation currently has more than 5,400 employees. Its clients include leading aircraft manufacturers Airbus (both airplanes and helicopters), Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer, as well as airlines and operators of commercial and business aircraft.
