Diehl Metering completes its portfolio with the Echelon system solution for electricity - and now provides one-stop facilities for accurate reading of water, thermal energy, gas and electricity. This system solution based on the power line includes a range of meter variants as well as data loggers and an appropriate software application (NES) for operating the solution.
The Echelon electricity meters operate as single- or multi-tariff meters. The bidi-rectional communication between meters and data loggers enables the transmission of commands and a variety of features as well as the reception of data and alarms. Other meters can be connected to the Echelon meters over an M-Bus interface and a radio M-Bus receiver is available in addition to the wired connection.
Besides smart meters and the relevant infrastructure, Diehl Metering supplies intelligent communication solutions. For example, EVB’s Meterus middleware combines various meter infrastructures and provides the data and functions for different software. Existing gas or water meters can also be integrated. These don’t even have to be digital, as older meters can be incorporated over a radio interface to the Open Metering Standard or an M-Bus interface.
IZAR RE TEMP radio generation operate under Real Data protocol (Wireless MBus) at a frequency of 868 MHz. These radio are equipped with a temperature sensor with a large functioning range (-55°C to +125°C). The IZAR RE TEMP radio is programmed at the factory with the identification number. The IZAR RE TEMP radio transmit real instantaneous temperature as well as minimal, maximal, average temperature over the 6 last hours. IZAR HANDHELD PSION equipped with an IZAR RECEIVER BLUETOOTH will enable to read informations from a distance, or through fixed network with IZAR GPRS/LAN RECEIVER or M-Bus installation with IZAR CENTER.
The generation of IZAR RC H radio is devoted to remote meter reading. The radio operate under PRIOS protocol at a frequency of 868 or 434 MHz. They are compatible with Sappel modular meters in Hall or mixed version (blue ring). The IZAR RC H units are easy to fit and are field programmable with the identification number of the associated meter. IZAR RC H radio modules transmit the meter reading via a unidirectional radiolink each 8 seconds. IZAR RC H radio offers a number of functions (index at anniversary date, battery life, etc.) and alarms (leaks, meter blocked, reverse water flow etc.). One fixed battery enables independent operation for approximately 15 years of standard use.
The new generation of IZAR RC I radio is devoted to remote meter reading. IZAR RC I module can be clipped onto all the meters of the new Sappel inductive modular range (Mixed or Ti), with grey ring. They comprise the new sensor operating on inductive principle. Easy to fit, IZAR RC I is field or factory programmable with the identification number of the associated meter. IZAR RC I radio modules transmit the meter reading via an unidirectional link each 8 seconds and offers a number of functions (index at anniversary date, battery life...) and alarms (leaks, meter blocked, reverse flow...). IZAR RC I operates under PRIOS protocol and is available in version 868 and 434 MHz. One fixed battery enables independent operation for approximately 15 years of standard use.

IZAR RECEIVER GPRS/LAN is an IZAR radio reading concentrator (R3/R3.5). It enables to gather data remotely over the Internet from the meters equipped with Izar radio system. This wall-mounted, mains-powered radio reading unit sends data back via GPRS or LAN to an FTP (File Transfert Protocol) server, at programmable intervals (from 1 to 999 hours). On demand interrogation is also possible for the LAN version. The user may access the data at any time. The parameters of IZAR RECEIVER GPRS/LAN may be programmed via a Bluetooth link. IZAR RECEIVER GPRS, which is fitted with a SIM card, enables to read up to 1000 meters equipped with an Izar radio. It is automatically PC-enlabled using IZAR GPRS BDD and IZAR@NET Software.
IZAR RECEIVER BLUETOOTH is a radio receiver devoted especially for mobile reading (walk-by or drive-by). During the reading of the round, the information is sent by Bluetooth technology to an handheld computer IZAR HANDHELD PSION WORKABOUT PRO or any other Bluetooth handheld computer. Self-powered, IZAR RECEIVER BLUETOOTH is available on 868 or 434 MHz.
IZAR RECEIVER DISPLAY is a Display/Logger device, able to read the consumption of different energies (water, gaz, heat, electricity) sent by the IZAR radio range. This electronic device is able to visualize the values up to 10 meters and records the consumption within a period more than one year. IZAR RECEIVER DISPLAY is battery powered (LR6 type) easily replaceable. One PC software can be used to manage all the different information.
IZAR RECEIVER GPRS BATTERY is an IZAR radio reading concentrator. It collects data emitted by water and energy meters (gas, electricity, thermal energy, etc.) fitted with the IZAR radio. It sends the data back at programmable intervals to an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server. Thanks to its interchangeable battery pack, IZAR RECEIVER GPRS BATTERY is completely energy-autonomous. This means that its position in the field can be optimised. IZAR RECEIVER GPRS BATTERY can manage up to 1,000 meters fitted with IZAR radios. The various built-in functions enable optimal use. IZAR RECEIVER GPRS BATTERY is automatically PC-enabled using IZAR@NET software.
IZAR RDC STANDARD (Radio Data Concentrator) of DIEHL Metering Group is a data concentrator dedicated for the reading of IZAR radio system. Interoperability, data logging, remote configuration and the different version make it a core product for Smart Metering project with a multi-utility approach. IZAR RDC STANDARD is designed for deployment of Radio Fixed Network with data transmission through GPRS or LAN technology.
The toughened IZAR HANDHELD PSION is specially adapted for reading water meters and other energy. Equipped with the IZAR WIN CE software, it allows the reading of the meters in radio mode or manual mode. Thanks to radio receiver IZAR RECEIVER BLUETOOTH and IZAR OPTO HEAD IrdA, it can program and read all meters equipped by radio IZAR system. IZAR HANDHELD PSION communicates with all PC computer equipped with USB interface for loading and outloading informations.
IZAR HANDHELD PANASONIC is a though handheld computer, specially designed for on-site reading of water meters and other types of energy meters. Featuring IZAR GPRS/GPS software, it reads meters in radio and manual mode. When combined with the IZAR RECEIVER BLUETOOTH, it can read any meter equipped with the IZAR radio system. Using the GPS function, the software is able to guide the meter reader, thanks to the on-board navigation system. It can also record the meter GPS location. IZAR HANDHELD PANASONIC communicates with all computers, locally via a USB flash drive or remotely through the GPRS network, so that reading rounds can be uploaded and downloaded directly from the site.
IZAR@NET is an energy data management software that is able to do automatic readings of M-Bus and Fixed radio networks. Additionally it is possible to manage tours and data of Walk-by or Drive-by meter readings. Different modules give the possibility to adapt the software on your requirements.
The pulse emitter IZAR PULSE is at the core of the modular concept developped over 10 years ago. They can be clipped onto all the meters of the modular range "Hall" (blue ring) in a few seconds to turn them into communicating meters. The new generation of IZAR PULSE uses a Hall sensor and allows to determine the flow volume in both directions. IZAR PULSE offers a number of alarms against magnetic tampering, unauthorised unclipping of module and cable cut. IZAR PULSE is powered by a lithium cell and can be connected to remote reading system.
The IZAR PULSE i emitters are the center of the new modular inductive concept developed by SAPPEL. They can be clipped onto all the meters of the SAPPEL inductive (Ti) or mixed (Ha+Ti) modular range with grey ring, making them "communicative" in a very easy way. IZAR PULSE i can manage the flow values in both directions and also features alarms (cable cut-off tampering and unclipping). It may be connected to remote-reading or consumption-analysis systems. IZAR PULSE i features a new clamping ring for completely secured mounting (sealable cam) and allows to install it again on another meter.
IZAR CENTER is used for the remote reading of M-Bus and IZAR radio-linked meters. Easy to install, IZAR CENTER automatically communicates with the connected meters and memorises their data. IZAR CENTER may be read either by a PC with an RS232, USB or LAN link or by an analog or GSM modem. Connected to a GSM modem, IZAR CENTER sends the data to the FTP server, at programmable intervals. Furthermore, it is able to warn the user in real time of the occurrence of alarms by e-mail or SMS. Connected to an IZAR RECEIVER M-BUS, it can read meters equipped with the IZAR radio.
The HYDRO-PORT ANALOG offers the possibility to digitalize analog inputs and to convert them into M-Bus protocol. Up to two 4 ... 20 mA current loop inputs and one Pt temperature sensor can be digitalized in parallel. Instead of the two inputs one 4 ... 20 mA current loop output can be used.
IZAR DOSING is an electronic register with reset function specifically designed for industrial applications. IZAR DOSING is fully modular : it can be clipped onto all the water meters of the Sappel modular Ti range (grey ring), whether the meters are already installed or not. Thanks to its reset function, IZAR DOSING can be used in all industrial manufacturing processes requiring precise dosing. IZAR DOSING is easy to read, as it directly indicates the volume of the liquid flow, more over the meter's index remains ligible. The generously sized display (10 mm) makes for very clear reading. The device operates within a wide range of temperatures (from -20 °C to +50 °C).
